This is one of the many reasons we love Colorado!

Fun in the Snow!! We love Colorado with its crazy back and forth weather. Seriously. I love that it can be 65 degrees here one day, then snow the next. Snow is so fun to play in, but it can get depressing to go without sunlight for long periods of time (for me). That why I love living in the wacky climate here where we get snow and cold weather... but not too much!
(Becca - my little snow angel!)Here are some shots of the kids enjoying one of those fun snow days - almost. they had a 2-hour delay. Just enough time to play in the snow before school! (Of course it was all melted by the time they got home, so it was a good thing we seized the moment!!
(Tris and Cam sledding)
(Reesey filling a pail with snow for later!)

11-21-08 = Twilight Girls Night!!

Okay, those of you who are Twilight fans like me will appreciate this post. My awesome husband shooed me out the door with my sister and a handful of girlfriends to see the much anticipated Twilight movie!! We had a BLAST!! I have to say right here, though - the movie was fun, but the book is better, no contest! Anyway, my friends (and fellow Twilight fans) Kirsten and Jennie and I started the night out going out to dinner at Old Chicago - (yum!), then we met up with my sister, Ashley, and my other good friend Lucinda and her sister-in-law at the theater. The atmosphere was probably the best part of the night. We went on opening night with all the other crazy fans, so every time a new character came on screen, or a favorite line from the book was quoted, everyone screamed! It was awesome!
P.S. - Jennie, we are going to hold you to your promise to come out to the Springs for New Moon!!

The LAST Halloween post!

This is the last of the Halloween pictures - I swear! I just thought it would be illegal for me to post about Halloween and not show the kids in their costumes!

As you can see, Reese is Dora the Explorer, Cameron is Thomas the Train, Tristan a Transformer (Optimus Prime for those of you fellow Transformer fans!), and Becca is a mermaid. Tristan is purple-hair-guy, with his friends John-the-redneck, and Jeremiah-the-Baker. We had a fun multi-house party with friends where we did something fun at each house, then Trick-or-treated in each neighborhood. We had a lot of fun - We have great friends!

Finished jack-o-lanterns and witches brooms

Here are the finished products of our carving creations. Mine is supposed to look like Ernie from Sesame Street, Becca's is a witch, Trister's is a vampire, and there are a couple other assorted monsters in there that Tristan helped the little ones with too.

Now take a moment and marvel at the divine creations these mini witches brooms are. Go ahead... Ooh, and aah. At least I hope you will because I was up super late the night before my kids' Halloween parties making these cute, but very time consuming snacks! (By the way, if you ever want to try them out, they are pretzel sticks with pieces of fruit by the foot cut to make them look like brooms!)

Getting ready for Halloween

Here we are getting ready for Halloween! Trying out Halloween shirts and carving pumpkins - who doesn't love that? The kids are always surprised at how gross pumpkin guts are! But like I said - they loved it anyway!

When I grow up...

This is Becca and Tristan all dressed up for Career day at school. Becca is a veteranarian, and Tristan is a police officer. (We had to make a crazed run to the dollar store the night before to find Tristan's items!!) Aren't they cute!?

Wow, where does the time go??

Okay... So I'm obviously, painfully waaay behind with our blog here. I am going to try to do better. I'm trying to decide now if it would be better to just start with what's going on with us now or do a fast recap of the last several months I missed. Okay, I talked myself into it, we're doing a recap! So here goes!

Here we are going for a ride on Thomas the train in September for Cameron's 3rd birthday. He was in heaven! And even though this event is totally geared for 3 year old Thomas the train fans, we all had a great time just being together and I swear I tear up a little every time we go on these things as I watch the sheer joy in the kids' faces!
